Denoising

A Special Session on denoising will be held during the 2007 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition (AIPR-07). Wavelet transforms are a useful tool for the reduction of noise in signals and images. Wavelet-based algorithms have dominated denoising in recent times and have been used in industrial applications. Multiresolution analysis, and space-frequency approaches are now common tools used in image and signal processing.

This session provides a forum for the presentation of results in theoretical developments, applications, and evaluations of new algorithms of denoising. The scope of the special session includes, but is not limited to:

  • Signal and image restoration
  • Non-Gaussian and nonstationary noise
  • Automatic methods
  • Theoretical developments
  • Evaluation of techniques
  • Applications for feature extraction and detection
  • Applications for pattern recognition
  • Denosing array data
  • Imaging applications
    Paper Submission and Publication:
Authors are encouraged to submit the papers for this session as an email attachment to the Session Chair given below. The draft paper should not be more than 8 IEEE pages and it should be in MSWORD, PDF, or PS format only.

Each paper will be sent to two experts for review. All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings, under the title of the session.

    Deadlines:

Draft paper submission due: February 1st 2007
    Acceptance/rejection decision: March 1st 2007
Camera ready paper submission and pre-registration: April 2nd 2007
    Conference: July 9-12 2007
